Python Job: Junior Software Developer

Intel's Engineering Excellence (EngrX) team develops and deploys engineering software solutions to more than 6000 engineers throughout 28 countries at Intel. In addition, as part of the Development Excellence (DevX) team within the Data Platforms Engineering Architecture (DPEA) organization, EngrX is helping develop enhancements to existing tools to better accommodate requirements management and traceability in current project lifecycles and process.

We are looking for an energetic team member with solid working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, experience with database development, and the skill to connect with stakeholders to help understand and then deliver on requirements. The selected applicant will be part of the global software team responsible for helping develop our software environment with a focus improving existing systems. The software role requires experience with scripting programming languages, databases such as MSSQL, a thorough knowledge of the software development process, and the skill to solve problems with simple and creative solutions.

This employee must be a self-motivated, goal-oriented, independent worker, who is passionate about quality of output, and must have the skill to produce results with minimal supervision and guidance.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Development of new modules and processes for existing systems through web, scripting, and database programming.
• Customer outreach to gather requirements and adjust based on feedback.
• Provide recommendations with considerations to deadlines.
• Designing creative solutions to issues and feature requests.
• Bug fixing and responding to user issues.
• Frequent communication of project status including updates on possible delays or setbacks.
• Documentation of code and best-known methods for using new features.
• Strong desire and willingness to take on new challenges and opportunities.
  

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, and/or internship experience. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with scripting languages.
• 1+ years of experience writing and debugging database queries.
• 6+ months of experience with the use of APIs.
• 3+ months of data experience (data architecture, data modeling, and/or data engineering).
• Advanced English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Python scripting.
• Experience with both SQL and Oracle databases.
• Knowledge of various Python packages and modules, including their applications and use.
• Proven delivery of technical expertise in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue.
